Tucker Carlson Blasts Steve Cohen for Racist Comments About National Guard

Tucker Carlson blasted a member of the U.S. House from Tennessee Monday night for suggesting that most of the National Guardsmen deployed in Washington, D.C. for President-elect Joe Biden’s inauguration could be a threat because they are White and male.

“Democrats in Congress demanded that the troops sent to Washington this week submit to a political purity test — ‘ideological vetting,’ as they put it — to make certain that every soldier professed loyalty to the new regime,” Carlson said. “Not loyalty to our country, not loyalty to our Constitution, but loyalty to the aims of a specific political party. Nothing like that has ever happened in America and just a few months ago, it would have been unimaginable. Suddenly it’s compulsory.”

“Rep. Steve Cohen (D-TN-09) has even gone so far as to say that every White man in this country is a potential murderer, that every White man in America should be under suspicion — purely on the basis of being White and male — of planning a presidential assassination,” he continued.

Carlson noted that Americans were not allowed to discuss Army Major Nidal Hasan’s religious beliefs after he committed a terrorist attack at Fort Hood in 2009, which was driven by his radical Islamic ideology and killed 13.

“When it emerged later that Hasan was an Islamic extremist and the Army had failed to notice his extremism or in any way protect the public from it, no one at the Pentagon was court-martialed,” Carlson said. “Instead, the rest of us sat through months of lectures about how we had no right to come to broader conclusions about what had happened at Fort Hood.”

Carlson continued:

Yes, Every Kid

In the meantime, you’ve got to wonder what the Guardsmen themselves think of all of this. Serving in the National Guard is not easy work. Guardsmen aren’t paid much. Some, you’ve got to imagine, are doing it for love of country. Now, they’ve been deployed to their country’s own capital city and they’ve been given orders to shoot their fellow Americans if necessary. That’s a lot to ask.

Now, on top of all of that, they’ve been told that if they were born a certain way, if they’re White and male and therefore evil and dangerous, they themselves are under suspicion of being the enemy. They’re potential killers, assassins, betrayers of a nation.

Cohen made his comments Monday on “CNN Newsroom” with host Jim Sciutto.

“You know I was thinking, the [National] Guard is 90 some-odd percent, I think, male,” Cohen said. “Only about 20 percent of White males voted for Biden. You’ve gotta figure that in The Guard, which is predominantly more conservative – I see that on my social media – we know it, they’re probably not more than 25 percent of the people that are there protecting us that voted for Biden.”

“The other 75 percent are in the class that would be, uh, a large class of folks who might want to, uh, do something,” he continued. “There were military people and police who took oaths to defend the Constitution, and to protect and defend, who didn’t do it, and who were in the insurrection, so it does concern me.”

When asked by Sciutto if he had any evidence that anyone on the inside of the U.S. military was planning to attack Biden’s inauguration, Cohen gave a circuitous response which amounted to a “no.”

“Absolutely not, Jim, but you draw a circle first,” Cohen said. “The first circle is people who vote for Trump and not for Biden, as far as people who would be within the zone of folks who you’d be suspect of, and the suspect group is large.”

Democrats are continuing to push the narrative that all of President Donald J. Trump’s supporters are extremists, forcing the National Guard to conduct extra background checks on the troops deployed to Washington, D.C.

“For this deployment everybody is screened additionally, but it’s more of a reassurance, because we do everything we can to know our Guardsmen, our soldiers and airmen,” Major General William Walker reportedly said.

Politically speaking, Cohen has been making the most out of the mostly peaceful protests at the Capitol on January 6.

On the floor of the U.S. House last week, Cohen accused the protestors of attempting to “murder Congress.”

“This was an assault on the Constitution, an assault on Congress, it was a felonious assault,” he said. “It was [an] attempt to murder Congress and our processes to elect our President of the United States.”

“It is the political equivalent of shooting someone on Fifth Avenue, and getting away with it,” he said, “and somebody needs to stand up to that.”

In an appearance on MSNBC Sunday, Cohen readily admitted that he hates Trump.

“I hate Donald Trump. He’s caused nearly 400,000 people to die of Coronavirus. He’s ruined my last 10 months. He has threatened my life at the Capitol,” Cohen said.

“He has wreaked havoc and destruction on the building that I work in and love. He has destroyed the faith that people should have in the government and shown that he’s been a crook for four years, and I hate him.”

Talk, like the clown Cohen speaks, is the very thing that will keep tensions in this country high.

But that is what his kind, including VP Harris want.

They don’t want unity as they claim.

They want division and someone to blame when their plans go asunder.

Nancy Pelosi and Chuck Schumer share this same ideology.

So this makes Biden’s speech, about stopping the uncivil war, bovine scatology (better known as bull hockey).

Democrats thrive on dividing this country so that discourse, hate and over all conflict become the standard.

Sadly maybe Republican In Name Only, like our precious Blackburn, Hagerty and McConnell, Graham, McCarthy and others, are right there with them.

It’s precisely talk like that that makes it so.

He is such an embarrassment, not just to Tennessee, but to mankind as a whole! Come on Memphis, you can do better than this can’t you?

Am I alone in seeing the irony of a declaration of “White Men” being suspicious, by a white guy?

Mark my words, I am seeing this as a precursor to the attitude that will pervade the Harris Administration. Any person that is “white”, “male” or both will be in danger of getting clobbered by the McCarthy-style accusations from those that are female, non-white, or both.

You realize, thanks to the precedent of not being able to criticize Obama because it’s “racist”, we’ll not be able to criticize Harris because it’s either “racist” or “sexist”. Not that our info-oligarchs will let us do it, anyway.
